Last Supper

from 33 A.D. by Dale Lund

/

lyrics

We all sat around with our eyes on the man
waiting for him to divulge his plan
As we vied for positions of favor and power
with a gesture he showed we did not understand

He shattered our wildest ambitions
bringing us down to our knees
We faltered and grasped for some meaning
How the kingdom would come to the wounded and meek

When he spoke of betrayal, our suspicions were aroused
But who among us could do such a deed
And to his good friend he said, "You'll deny me quite soon"
But he denied he'd deny him, and we all quite agreed

He shattered our wildest ambitions
bringing us down to our knees
We faltered and grasped for some meaning
How the kingdom would come to the wounded and meek

As he served us our supper he gave us a mystery
that made it more challenging for us to swallow
He said the bread was his body, the wine was his blood
With that we were given the way we should follow

He shattered our wildest ambitions
bringing us down to our knees
We faltered and grasped for some meaning
How the kingdom would come to the wounded and meek

about

Dale Lund Vancouver, British Columbia

I was born into a creative family, where jam sessions and art days were part of the fabric of our growing up. Faith in our one true Creator is the weave that held it all together. I've been writing songs since my teens. I like to tell stories in my songs. In each story is a glimmer of the grace held out to us in all aspects of life. I hope as you listen, you will hear and see it. ... more
